In the United States, you are considered to be legally intoxicated if your blood alcohol content (BAC) is 0.08% or greater.

At Alabama MedScreen, we offer two common methods of testing for BAC including breath testing and instant saliva testing. We have several trained collectors and we own all the necessary equipment to test in our office or at any mobile site.

Breath Alcohol Testing

Breath alcohol testing, using a calibrated breathalyzer, can detect alcohol use within the last 12 hours. If the initial screen reads 0.02% or higher, a confirmation test will be conducted after a 15-minute wait period. All results are court admissible and sealed in a tamper-proof envelope.

Instant Saliva Testing

While breath testing is a quick and accurate way to detect alcohol levels in a person, an instant saliva test is another efficient form of BAC testing. It involves the use of a buccal cheek swab and can detect alcohol use within the last 6 hours.

Please see the Pricing tab for current BAC testing fees and availability or you can call (205) 823-9648 or e-mail us at info@almedscreen.com to discuss you specific situation and needs.
